2-day conference with Deputy Commissioners of all districts of Assam comes to an end

Aug. 22: The 1st two-day conference with Deputy Commissioners of all districts of Assam at Diphu which began in Diphu on Sunday came to an end on Monday. The high level conference of the 33 Deputy Commissioners was held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, several Ministers, MLAs and key senior officials also took part in this conference.

Speaking about the conference CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We discussed various issues regarding implementation of projects and preparing the development roadmap for the state. We shall have conferences with DCs & SPs separately and jointly every six months which will be held outside Guwahati. In these two days in Diphu, we shall discuss how to achieve speedy growth of the State.”

The conference identified priority work areas for next six months, to be closely monitored and completed. It was also discussed about the proposed Mission Basundhara – doorstep delivery of govt services. A targeted & integrated action plan for various sectors has been devised after detailed discussions with DCs focused on:

  • Faster service delivery
  • Expeditious infrastructure push
  • Better health & education
  • Effective delivery & monitoring of central schemes

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The first DCs’ Conference at Diphu has been so incredibly gratifying, with the spirit of Team Assam coming out loud and profound! We’ve a dream of taking Assam to a new trajectory of growth & making it among fastest growing states in India…. My gratitude to my Cabinet colleagues and officers for your spirited participation.”
