19 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Thursday, 32 discharged, 1 death reported

July 29: Karimganj registered 19 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday. The district has currently 190 active COVID-19 cases, while 32 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Thursday. 2,601 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 15 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Wednesday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 28 July to 5 PM on 29 July) witnessed the death of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening. One of them is from manipur, the other two are from Karimganj and Hailakandi districts respectively. They deceased from Karimganj was identified as:

• Haji Foyez Ali (65) from Jakiyatola in Karimganj district got admitted at SMCH on 24 July. He died at 11 AM on 29 July.
