School student commits suicide at Ambicapatty

July 28: In a tragic incident, a female student of Class IX from Ambicapatty, Silchar committed suicide on Wednesday night at around 10 PM. The girl, a student of Sarla Birla Gyanjyoti School, Silchar was also an excellent table tennis player. As per reports, the girl died by hanging herself inside the bathroom of her flat. On discovering this, she was rushed to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) by her parents and relatives, where the doctors declared that she has been brought dead. The body of the girl was sent for post-mortem.

The family of the deceased is basically from Hailakandi. Her father Dipayan Paul is a businessman. They purchased a flat at Amalendu Enclave near Ambicapatty point, Silchar. She is survived by her parents and elder sister who is a college student. The exact cause for taking this drastic step by the deceased could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
