With 07 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 54 on 15 July, 2 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 377 in Cachar; 57 discharged on Thursday

July 15: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 11.20 PM. As per the latest data, 07 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 54 persons were found positive in the district on 15 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 47 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 377. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 57 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 67 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 3,610 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 46 persons were found positive, whereas 08 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,434 whereas during this phase, 17,883 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 377 active patients:

10 at MH
36 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
09 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
06 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
02 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
08 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
05 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
15 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
28 Palonghat Model Hospital
171 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 14 July to 5 PM on 15 July) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening. Both of them are from Cachar district.

The deceased were identified as Kalyan Kumar Deb (65) from Udharbond in Cachar and Kartik Goala (80) from Badri Basti in Cachar district.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 15 July, there were 89 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 59 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 30 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 10 patients were put under ventilator support and 70 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 10 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
