94 tests Covid positive in Cachar on Saturday, 170 discharged & 3 deaths at SMCH
There are 564 active cases in Cachar
Jan. 29: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually decreasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 5.30 PM. As per the latest data, a total of 94 persons were found positive in the district on 29 January. Also, 170 patients were discharged (154 from home & 16 from hospital) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 564 out of which, 490 are in home isolation whereas 74 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Friday,147 persons were found positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,383 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 80 persons were found positive, whereas 14 were detected positive out of 357 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 6,096 whereas during this phase, 5,504 patients were discharged. This data was provided by the district health department from 12 noon of 28 January to 12 noon of 29 January, 2022. There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 28 January to 5 PM on 29 January) witnessed the death of 03 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as:
- Abdul Rahman Laskar (50) from Rongpur, Silchar tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 24 January. The patient, however, breathed his last at 3.30 PM on 28 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, pneumonia.
- Ruksana Begum Laskar (55) from Sonabarighat in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 27 January. The patient died at 7.30 PM on 28 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from uremic encephalopathy & chronic kidney disease.
- Biswajit Tantubai (38) from Dolu Tea Estate in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 28 January (12.55 PM). The patient passed away at 9.30 PM on 28 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, rheumatic heart disease, narrowing of heart valve & stroke.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 29 January, there were 16 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 06 patients were put under ventilator support, and 11 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH but none were discharged. A total of 10 patients were detected positive in RAT at SMCH and 16 in RTPCR on Saturday. Majority of them detected positive on Saturday opted for home isolation.
