8 tests +ve in Cachar on Thursday, tally reaches 10,854
Active cases 142 in Cachar
Nov. 26: On Thursday, a total of 08 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 907 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 07 persons were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Thursday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,854. Further, a total of 10,675 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 142 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 11 persons were found positive in Cachar on Wednesday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Thursday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 194 persons were collected. 213 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 04 tested positive. Further, 275 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 were found positive.
Apart from this, no new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and also none of them were discharged. At present, there are 18 active patients at SMCH, out of which 3 are critical. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Rimpi Rani, Fulerun Nessa and Bidith Kr. Choudhury. A total of 09 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 05 of them are put under oxygen support.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
