8 more COVID-19 patients released on Sunday, active cases 7 in Assam: Himanta
April 26: Eight more COVID-19 patients were released on Sunday. Out of these, four of them are from Golaghat Civil Hospital and 4 from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), Guwahati. This was informed by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing at NHM Office in Guwahati on Sunday afternoon. The recovery rate of Assam stands at 77 percent, which is much higher than the national recovery rate which stands at 22 percent.
A total of 35 persons were affected by coronavirus in Assam, out of which 1 person died at Silchar Medical College & Hospital. This patient was from Hailakandi district.
Good news ~ After their 3-4 successive tests for #coronavirus came negative, 8 patients are being discharged today & will remain under observation for next 14 days.

As of now, out of 35 corona positive patients in the state, 27 of them were discharged. This means that in Assam, only 7 active cases are there. The minister, however, mentioned that the 1st COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment at SMCH has still not recovered and have tested positive a number of times as of now.
