8 KTU militants surrenders at Assam Rifles camp on Friday

Aug. 19: A total of eight militants surrendered at 11 Assam Rifles Camp, Haflong on Friday. The surrendered militants are from Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) a wing of NSCN (IM). Out of these eight, five of them are trained militants and the other three are from civil wings. All of them are from Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts of Assam.

All the militants were staying at Habron camp, Habron is the base camp of NSCN, which is situated at Nagaland. Expressing their views, the surrendered militants said that they are not able to roam or live freely with arms, so they decided to surrender and come back to the mainstream.
