76 persons test Covid-19 +ve in Cachar till 7 PM on Friday, 2 deaths registered

31 air passengers detected Covid +ve on Friday

April 30: A total of 76 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 7 PM on Friday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 73 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT), whereas 03 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Friday evening. Further, during the day, 501 air passengers arrived at Silchar Airport, out of which, 391 did Covid test at Tikal Model Hospital, wherein 31 of them were found positive.

It needs mention here that on Thursday, 108 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

Two more deaths were registered at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday. Out of the two, one of them is from Cachar, while the other is from Hailakandi district. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday.

The two deceased are Moni Rani Das (65) from Trunk Road, Police Quarters, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 24 April after testing Covid positive. She, however, died on 30 April at 8.15 AM. The other deceased is Pappu Nath (26) from Katlicherra in Hailakandi also took admission at SMCH  on 22 April. He breathed his last at 5.15 PM on 30 April.
