13 tests +ve in Cachar on Friday, tally reaches 10,871

Nov. 27: On Friday, a total of 13 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1589 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 12 persons were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,871. Further, a total of 10,683 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 151 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 08 persons were found positive in Cachar on Thursday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 260 persons were collected. 139 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 01 tested positive. Further, 554 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 05 were found positive.

Apart from this, 03 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and also none of them were discharged. At present, there are 22 active patients at SMCH, out of which 3 are critical. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Rimpi Rani, Fulerun Nessa and Bidith Kr. Choudhury. A total of 07 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 05 of them are put under oxygen support.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
