708 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Thursday, 734 discharged & 13 deaths registered

Aug 20: On Friday, out of 96,200 tests, 719 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,83,458. The positivity rate in the state is 0.71 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 164 positive cases during the day. Further, on Friday, 13 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,551. The recovery rate is 97.63 percent.

It needs mention here that on Thursday, 734 persons tested positive in Assam and 10 deaths were registered.

On Friday, 734 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,69,650 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 6,910 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 13 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 13 deceased, 02 are from Jorhat; 01 each from Barpeta, Dhemaji, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Karbi Anglong, Kokhrajhar, Majuli, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,551.
