7 more deaths in last 24 hours in SMCH & Green Heals

August 24: The coronavirus pandemic has now led to a procession of death also in Barak Valley. Though in terms of percentage, this may be very nominal or may be just a number, but for the family members of the deceased, each death means everything for them. Since the last few days, the valley witnessed many deaths, although all of them were not certified as COVID-19 deaths. However, this also cannot be denied that all of them were infected with coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, the Valley witnessed 7 more deaths, out of which, 6 died in Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) and 1 at Green Heals Hospital. The 7 deceased were identified as:

  1. Shankar Lal Dutta (70) from Ambicapatty, Silchar took admission at SMCH on 25 August at 10.50 AM. He died at 5.40 PM on the same day. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
  2. Subhrangshu Chanda (76) from G.C. College Road, Silchar was admitted at SMCH was testing positive at 9.45 AM on 25 August. he breathed his last at 5.30 AM on 26 August. His death was also certified as Covid-19 death by the State Death Audit Board.
  3. Narayan Chandra Roy (54) took admission at SMCH on 18 August. He, however, breathed his last at 12.14 PM on 25 August. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
  4. Pankajini Sheel (81) from Udayachal in National Highway, Silchar was admitted at 2.36 PM on 23 August at SMCH. She, however, succumbed to the infection at 2.20 AM on 26 August. Her death was also certified as Covid-19 death by the State Death Audit Board.
  5. Kajal Baran Dutta (86) from Premtola in Silchar. He was admitted at SMCH on 19 August and died at 11.50 AM on 25 August. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
  6. Nritendra Chandra Das (75) from Jhumbasti, Badarpur in Karimganj was admitted at SMCH at 1.34 AM on 24 August. He died at 12.50 AM on 25 August. His death was also certified as Covid-19 death by the State Death Audit Board. 
  7. Nripendra Chandra Mandal (85) from Ghoniwala in Silchar was admitted at Green Heals Hospital, Silchar. He was admitted on 19 August. On 21 August, he was given plasma. However, he died in the morning on 26 August.
