NSS volunteers of Jagannath Singh College conducts cleanliness drive

August 16: In connection with the 73rd Independence Day and also as a part of Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan, the NSS volunteers of Jagannath Singh College, Udharbond conducted a cleanliness drive. After cleaning the college campus, the volunteers cleaned the statue of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose including its pedestal and adjoining areas at Udharbond Bus stand.

Under the active guidance of Dr. Shyam Mamud Barbhuiya, Programme Officer of NSS unit of the college, around 50 student volunteers of NSS took part in the cleanliness drive. Dr Barbhuiya requested the people of the area to keep area surrounding the statue clean because it is the moral responsibility of the people as Netaji is the pride of our Nation.

Cleanliness drive is the routine activity of NSS and the NSS Volunteers does this activity off and on. Dr S. Somarendro Singha, Principal of the college encouraged the student volunteers of NSS to do various work for the cause of the society.
