570 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Tuesday, 5 deaths registered

Aug 31: On Tuesday, out of 88,519 tests, 570 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,89,426. The positivity rate in the state is 0.64 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 131 positive cases during the day. Further, on Tuesday, 05 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,660. The recovery rate is 97.87 percent.

It needs mention here that on Monday, 538 persons tested positive in Assam and 15 deaths were registered.

On Tuesday, 624 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,76,865 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam.  At present, there are 5,554 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 05 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 05 deceased, 02 are from Kamrup Metro, 01 each from Golaghat, Jorhat & Sivasagar. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,660.
