57 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Thursday

July 1:  A total of 57 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Thursday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 4,870 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 57 were found positive, whereas the results of RT-PCR tests were still not available till the filing of this report. It needs mention here that 85 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Wednesday.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley for more than a month with a gap of two days in between. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 30 June to 5 PM on 1 July) again did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).  This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 1 July, there were 120 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 56 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 64 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 12 patients were put under ventilator support and 81 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 13 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 21 of them were discharged.
