56 tests Covid-19 +ve in Cachar on Wednesday, 1 death registered
2 patients critical at ICU in SMCH
April 21: On Wednesday, 56 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,201 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 42 persons were found positive, whereas 14 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Wednesday night. However, on Tuesday night, the total positive cases in the district was 43.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,876. Further, a total of 11,589 patients were discharged in the district as of now. At present, 19 patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), 10 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital, 08 at MH, 03 at SM Dev Civil Hospital, whereas, 209 others are in home isolation. There are 249 active cases in Cachar district. Two patients are in critical condition at SMCH.
Surja Mohan Das (56) from Ashram Road, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 17 April after testing Covid-19 positive. He died at 10.05 AM on 21 April, 2021. The Death Audit Board regarded it as non-Covid death.
