5,468 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Thursday, 4,219 patients discharged & 75 deaths registered
May 13: On Thursday, out of 59,594 tests, 5,468 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 3,15,554. The positivity rate in the state is 9.18 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,173 positive cases during the day. Further, on Thursday, 75 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,984.

On Thursday, 4,219 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,70,079 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 85.59 percent. At present, there are 42,144 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 75 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 75 deceased, 23 are from Kamrup Metro; 7 from Dibrugarh; 5 each from Kamrup Rural & Tinsukia; 3 each from Barpeta, Darrang, Golaghat, Nalbari, Sonitpur & Karbi Anglong; 2 each from Bongaigaon, Hojai & Nagaon; 1 each from Udhalguri, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Goalpara, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Karimganj, Lakhimpur & Morigaon. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,984.
