5 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 21 December

Active cases 41 in Cachar, 5 discharged

Dec. 20: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 10.25 PM. As per the latest data, 05 persons were found positive in the district on 21 December. Also, 05 patients were discharged (1 from hospital & 4 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 41 (27 in home isolation & 14 in hospitals). It needs mention here that on Monday, 02 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,865 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 04 persons were found positive, whereas 01 was detected positive out of 305 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,530 whereas during this phase, 20,271 patients were discharged.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 20 December to 5 PM on 21 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 21 December, there were 10 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, but 02 are in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH but none of them were discharged.
