47 tests Covid positive in Cachar on Sunday, 209 discharged & 3 deaths at SMCH
There are 401 active cases in Cachar
Jan. 30: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually decreasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 8.30 PM. As per the latest data, a total of 47 persons were found positive in the district on 30 January. Also, 209 patients were discharged (204 from home & 05 from hospital) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 401 out of which, 324 are in home isolation whereas 77 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Saturday, 94 persons were found positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,761 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 29 persons were found positive, whereas 18 were detected positive out of 466 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 6,143 whereas during this phase, 5,713 patients were discharged. This data was provided by the district health department from 12 noon of 28 January to 12 noon of 29 January, 2022. With three more deaths on Sunday, the death toll due to Covid has gone upto 29 this year. There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 29 January to 5 PM on 30 January) witnessed the death of 03 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening.
The deceased were identified as:
- Abdul Rashid Sheikh (81) from Rongpur Part IV, Silchar tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 24 January. The patient, however, breathed his last at 9.30 PM on 29 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, enlargement of heart, Acute kidney infection & chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
- Sunil Das (65) from Gobinda Nagar Part II in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 23 January. The patient died at 9.20 AM on 30 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from gall bladder perforation, septic shock.
- Subimal Das (65) from Lakhibazar Road in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 24 January. The patient passed away at 11.30 AM on 30 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from uremic encephalopathy, Acute kidney infection & type 2 diabetes.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 30 January, there were 11 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 04 patients were put under ventilator support, and 04 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 04 were discharged. A total of 04 patients were detected positive in RAT at SMCH and 16 in RTPCR on Sunday. Majority of them detected positive on Sunday opted for home isolation.
