47 tests COVID-19 +ve in Cachar on Monday, 1 death registered

April 19: On Monday, 47 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,652 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 23 persons were found positive, whereas 24 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,770. Further, a total of 11,553 patients were discharged in the district as of now.  At present, 12 patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), 09 at green Heals Pvt Hospital, 03 at MH, whereas, 153 others are in home isolation. There are 179 active cases in Cachar district.

On Monday, one female from Ambicaptty, Silchar died on 19 April. The deceased Bina Rani Paul (94) was admitted in Covid ICU at SMCH on 17 April with history of fever, cough and shortness of breath. The patient was found to have dyslectrolytemia also. She was diagnosed to be suffering from respiratory failure and was put on NIV. She died at 4.45 PM on 19 April. Though Covid positive, but the death was regarded as non-Covid by the Audit Board.
