3 Silchar youths launch ‘Daily Bazar’, will deliver home groceries, fruits, fish & meat

August 10: A unique initiative during the ongoing pandemic has been undertaken by 3 aspiring youths of Silchar. A new e-commerce platform “Daily Bazar” was launched recently by these 3 youths and would cater to the needs of the people of Silchar. Well, the process is simple. The platform of “Daily Bazar” can be used to order all sorts of grocery items, vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken and mutton at the doorsteps.

The way to place the order is also quite user friendly. Anyone can download the app of ‘Daily Bazar’ from Google Play Store or else WhatsApp them at 8403941130. In case of inconvenience, customers can even call them in this number. “Home delivery of essential items at best price is our main motto, said Soumitra Biswas, co-founder of Daily Bazar. He is ably supported in this project by two other co-founders, Subrata Sen and Raju Das Choudhury.

When asked about how the idea struck them, Soumitra Biswas already in the marketing sector along with Subrata Sen said, “We have seen during these months of pandemic how people are facing difficulties in procuring essential items coming out of their houses. The problem is much more for senior citizens staying alone. So this was the starter which sparked an idea and later Raju Das Choudhury also joined us. Once decided, we at once set to task. When we get any order, we then do the marketing at the cheapest available price. We personally select only fresh items and deliver them at the doorsteps.”

Soumitra Biswas said, “Usually we take around 45 minutes to delivery the products. At present we take orders for home delivery only within Silchar town. We have employed 6 delivery boys who jumps into action, the moment anyone places any order with us. Till now, we have got a positive feedback from all our customers.”

This is indeed a laudable effort on the part of the youths to come up with such e-commerce platforms in Silchar. The need of the hour is to go digital, which has more significance at this hour of pandemic. “If more and more persons use our platforms to order essential commodities sitting at the comfort of their homes, then this would mean that less people would come out to crowd at markets. In this way, people can also remain safe from getting infected by coronavirus in crowded markets.”

What about the safety standards? Soumitra Biswas replied, “Well, we ensure the highest standards of safety measures and abide by the Covid protocol while purchase and delivery of the items. We have also trained our delivery boys in this aspect, who wears face masks, face shields and hand globes. We always encourage digital payments, but at times if it is a petty amount of say Rs. 100 or so, then we accept that, but very soon we would totally stop cash transaction and accept digital payments through Google Pay.”

Soumitra Biswas appealed to the people of Silchar to support their initiative and order items through their e-platform “Daily Bazar” which would generate employment and at the same time would make it easy for the customers to order commodities any time without venturing out. “Try us once, we could assure you the best value for your money and requirements,” said Soumitra Biswas.
