444 detected Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Tuesday, 278 discharged & 7 deaths at SMCH
May 25: A total of 444 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 7,061 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 438 were found positive, whereas 06 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Tuesday evening. Also, 278 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Monday, 668 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 07 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 07 deceased, 04 are from Cachar district, 02 from Karimganj & 01 from Hailakandi.
The deceased were identified as: Muzibur Ragman Mazumder (50) from Gonigram in Katigorah, Cachar; Surajit Deb (70) from Patharkandi in Karimganj district; Sudhangshu Chanda (81) from Padma Nagar (Bilpar), Silchar; Rajarshi Bhattacharjee (35) from Latu in Karimganj; Bijoy Rakshit (72) from Itkhola, Silchar; Nazim Uddin Barbhuiya (55) from Berenga in Cachar and Abdul Nur Choudhury (60) from Katlicherra in Hailakandi district.
