44 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Thursday, 39 discharged

There are 293 active cases in the district

July 22:  A total of 44 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Thursday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,805 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 44 were found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, the results of RT-PCR test were not made available. Also, 39 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged. At present, there are 293 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 32 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Wednesday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 21 July to 5 PM on 22 July) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 22 July, there were 68 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 39 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 29 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 05 patients were put under ventilator support and 46 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 16 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 15 of them were discharged.
