Heart Care Society organises awareness programme on heart care at Silchar Don Bosco
February 22: Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women globally. Every year, 1 in 4 deaths are caused by heart disease. The good news? Heart disease can often be prevented when people make healthy choices and manage their health conditions. Communities, families, and health professionals can work together to create opportunities for people to make healthier choices.
To prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, Women’s Forum (Barak Valley Chapter), Heart Care Society of Assam has decided to celebrate Heart Awareness Month, wherein 6 such awareness programmes were taken in hand to be held in the month of February in different places of Silchar. The 1st of such awareness programme on heart care was organised on Saturday at Don Bosco School, Silchar. Rtn. Harkishore Chanda was the Coordinator of this awareness camp. Pallabita Sharma, Assistant Secretary of Women’s Forum (Barak Valley Chapter), Heart Care Society of Assam was also present during the occasion.
The main motive of the “Cardio Awareness Meet” is to disseminate information on how to prevent, survive and live after heart attack. Dr. Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee, Senior Consultant Cardiologist & President of Heart Care Society of Assam was the key speaker. Father of Don Bosco School welcomed the members of the Heart Care Society of Assam. The students also demonstrated deep interest and listened to their presentation with apt attention.
In his presentation, Dr. Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee ably demonstrated the various functions of the heart and how to keep one;s heart safe from any attack. The main motive of the “Cardio Awareness Meet” is to disseminate information on how to prevent, survive and live after heart attack.
It needs mention here here that Thousand Sayantans’ in collaboration with Women’s Forum, Heart Care Society of Assam is going to organise “Cardio Awareness Meet” on 23 February, 2020 at 6.45 PM. The awareness meet will be held at Ellora Heritage Hall, Silchar.
Another awareness programme will be organised at Silchar Goldighi Mall pn 24 February, 2020 at 5 PM. Jhumna Chakraborty will coordinate this heart awareness meet. Swarnali Choudhury, Vice Chairperson & Pallabita Sharma, Assistant Secretary of Women’s Forum, Heart Care Society of Assam has cordially invited all to attend the awareness meets. They said, “Care for heart, care for life.”
