4 meritorious students including 2 rank holders felicitated by DC Cachar
June 8: Four meritorious students including two who rank holders from Cachar in the HSLC Examination, 2020 were felicitated by the district administration on Monday. Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar congratulated 8th position holder Anisha Roy from Holy Cross HS School and Paarsaa Tanseem Barbhuiya of Silchar Collegiate School, who secured the 10th rank in the state. DC Jalli expressed joy at their success and said that they have made the district and entire Barak Valley proud by their brilliant performances.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner also felicitated Dipankar Sutradhar who scored 79% from Public Higher Secondary School and his school mate Rahul Biswas who scored 73% overcoming manifold hurdles and odd circumstances at their homes. Both of them are real examples for the society as they defeated poverty by dint of their self-determination and hard work. DC Jalli wished them the best and inspired them to continue further studies in the truest stride. “Students like Dipankar and Rahul can be role models for other students who are unable to cope up with the challenges. They have shown that problems, howsoever big, falls too short before such courage and determination,” she added.
Expressing her views, Jalli said, “These students have made us feel proud. I also take this opportunity to wish the education department for the smooth conduct of the board examination. All of us have gone through the pressure of examination and it really gives me much joy to see the students come out with flying colours.” On a realistic note, the Deputy Commissioner also spoke for those who could not perform upto their expectations. She said, “Life is a journey of several ups and downs. These are all part of our lives. We should not loose hope for future will definitely hold much more good things in its bosom. The students should go on with their studies without losing hope and success will definitely kiss their feet in the future.” She added that “life will give them more opportunities to hatch on.”
DC Jalli also said that the education department should strive hard to improve the pass percentage of the district in the coming years and ensure that more ranks come to Cachar district. Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Rajib Roy delivered the welcome speech. Inspector of Schools, Cachar, Semina Yasmin Sara Rahman, District elementary education officer, Cachar Sumitra Deb also attended the felicitation programme along with other officials.
