37 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Wednesday, 55 discharged & 1 death at SMCH

The district has 354 active cases on 14 July

July 14:  A total of 37 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 6,404 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 31 were found positive, whereas 06 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR test. Also, 55 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged. There are at present 354 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 37 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.

Further, on Wednesday, a total of 5,189 persons were administered Covid-19 vaccine in Cachar district.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 13 July to 5 PM on 14 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). His detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening. The deceased from Cachar district was identified as:

  • Ramjan Ali  (55) from Alipur in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 9 July. The patient, however, passed away at 7.45 PM on 13 July.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 14 July, there were 87 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 54 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 33 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 12 patients were put under ventilator support and 71 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 11 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 16 of them were discharged.
