12 tests +ve in Cachar on Sunday, tally reaches 11,087

Active cases 96 in Cachar

Dec. 13: On Sunday, a total of 12 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1298 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 11 persons were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Sunday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,087. Further, a total of 10,955 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 96 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 20 persons were found positive in Cachar on Saturday..

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Sunday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 492 persons were collected. 325 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, none tested positive. Further, 513 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, none were found positive.

Apart from this, 05 new patient of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and none were discharged. At present, there are 22 active patients at SMCH, out of which 01 is in critical stage. A total of 06 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 02 of them are put under oxygen support and 01 kept in ventilator support. Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, no patients died due to COVID-19 at SMCH.
