3,197 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Friday, 26 deaths registered
April 30: On Friday, out of 72,239 tests, 3,197 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,53,123. The positivity rate in the state is 4.43 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,184 positive cases during the day. Further, on Friday again, 26 more persons lost their lives in the statedue to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,307. This is the highest single-day death toll recorded in Assam for two consecutive days in 2021.
It needs mention here that on Thursday, 3,079 persons tested positive in Assam and 26 deaths were registered.
On Friday, 2,449 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,26,643 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 89.54%.

Further, during the day, 26 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 26 deceased, 08 are from Kamrup Metro, 04 from Kamrup Rural, 2 each from Dibrugarh, Hojai, Sivasagar, Nagaon; 1 each from Barpeta, Cachar, Darrang, Golaghat, Nalbari & Udalguri. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,307.
