30 persons working at Roypur dyke to provide flood protection
May 17: As the water level in river Barak has considerably increased, there are chances of fresh flood in Cachar district. As a precautionary measure, 30 persons were engaged in protection of the dyke at Roypur area. These persons were working on Tuesday night at the said dyke for protection against occurrence of flood.
In an appeal, District Administration said, “We request public to stay calm and not panic during flood situation. We request everybody for their cooperation. District Administration is working hard to ensure minimal losses. Most importantly, we request that children should not play nearby water areas, especially avoiding electric lines. Maintain hygiene and take care. We are all working night and day in your service.”
