30 persons discharged from quarantine facility at NATRIP

April 30: Two children, including 30 persons who were put under institutional quarantine at NATRIP were officially released on Thursday. In the presence of MLA, Udharbond Mihir Kanti Shome, these individuals were released at a ceremonial function held at NATRIP, Jhapirbandh after staying there for a period of 14 days. Joint Director of Health, Dr Sudip Jyoti Das, District Surveillance Officer, Dr Ajit Kumar Bhattacharjee, Circle officer, Udharbond, Jayanta Chakraborty were also present during the occasion.

Speaking during the occasion, MLA, Udharbondh, Mihir Kanti Shome said that the people released from the their 14 days long quarantine period should not consider themselves as patients under any circumstances. He asked them to go to their respective homes and stay for another 14 more days separately. He also requested them to maintain social distancing of one metre and maintain cleanliness at their home. It is pertinent to mention here that, according to the new guidelines of Indian Medical Association, the quarantine period has been extended by the government for a total of 28 days. MLA Shome wished all of them  good health and a disease free life.

Dr. Ajit Kumar, District Surveillance Officer, wished their well-being during the current month of Ramadan so that they can stay in their homes separately for 14 more days and maintain cleanliness. He said that people should use hand sanitizers at their home but they should keep it out of reach of the children as it is inflammable by nature and so if it is exposed to fire, accidents can happen at anytime. As such, he said to take utmost care while using hand sanitizer at home.

Circle Officer Jayant Chakraborty and acting Medical Officer Dr. Arup Kumar Patwa also spoke during the occasion. At the beginning, Joint Director of Health, Dr Sudip Jyoti Das explained that the purpose of the occasion was to discharge those who were put under facility quarantine for 14 days. Later on, as a token of appreciation, gifts were given to all the 30 people including 2 children released from quarantine facility.
