3 years of Pulwama terror attack; Apostles Club Silchar pays homage to the martyrs

Feb. 14: Three years ago, on 14 February, 2019, a 78-vehicle CRPF convoy of 2,500 paramilitary troops was travelling in the Kashmir Valley towards Srinagar when a small van came out of the side road off the highway and rammed into one of the buses in the convoy. The van detonated and the blast destroyed the bus, killing all the forty CRPF troopers travelling in it. Another thirty-five troopers riding in vehicles immediately front and behind were wounded.

India avenged the sacrifice of bravehearts by bombing several terror camps on Pakistani soil. The terror attack ignited a series of events, including India’s surgical strikes on a terrorist training camp in Balakot following the capture of a fighter pilot and his subsequent release from Pakistani custody. India targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan through the Balakot airstrike in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 26, 2019. It was considered to be the first aerial shoot down after the Indo-Pak war.

Remembering them, Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to Central Reserve Police Force jawans who were killed during the Pulwama terror attack in 2019. He tweeted, “I pay homage to all those martyred in Pulwama on this day in 2019 and recall their outstanding service to our nation. Their bravery and supreme sacrifice motivates every Indian to work towards a strong and prosperous country.”

Nation paid deep tributes to those brave-hearts who aid down their lives at the altar of the nation. In Silchar also, the members of Apostles Club, Malugram offered tribute to the Pulwama martyrs and observed a minute silence.
