3 crore voters deleted in Uttar Pradesh draft electoral rolls after SIR

way2barak, Jan 7: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the draft electoral roll for Uttar Pradesh. Names of 12.55 crore out of the 15.44 crore voters have been retained in draft electoral roll after SIR, UP Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said. With 2.89 crore names deleted, the state recorded the highest number of deletions (18.7%). Tamil Nadu (15%) and Gujarat (14.5%) ranked second and third, respectively, according to the states’ draft rolls published earlier this month.
