The EVM/VVPAT Training & Awareness Cell of Cachar district will spearhead the training sessions wherein 27 Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) will impart training in EVM/VVPAT and poll procedure. The training will be given by means of power point presentations. A total of 10 rooms have been earmarked at Cachar School for the purpose of training. In every room, there will be two sets of Master Trainers: one will give training on EVM/VVPAT and the other will impart training on the poll procedure.

It needs mention here that the 1st round of training of poll parties (Presiding Officers & other polling staff) which started on 18 March came to an end on 23 March. A total of around 7000 poll staff were imparted training during the 1st round at Narshing HS School and Cachar High School.

The EVM training has acquired a great significance this year due to the introduction of a new machine named, Voter Verified Paper Audit Trial (VVPAT). The VVPAT is a way of giving feedback to voters using ballot-free voting system. Its purpose is to confirm the authenticity of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). This arrangement reveals to the voter whether he has voted or not. VVPAT is a kind of printer connected to EVM.

Copies of the order were also marked to Mridul Kanti Chakraborty, Senior Assistant of Training & Awareness Cell along with other concerned staff for providing logistic support at the training venue. Further, Sudipta Dutta Choudhury, SLMT, was directed to supervise the training venue.
