2796 tests +ve in Assam on Thursday including 307 in Cachar, state tally rises to 71,795

August 13: On Thursday, 2796 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus patients has gone upto 71,795, out of which, 24,414 are active cases. Cachar district registered 307 positive cases during the day. Further, 8 more deaths were also registered in the state during the day., thereby taking the death tally to 169. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote,”Alert ~ 2796 COVID cases detected out of 61318 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity rate- 4.55% Kamrup (M)- 418, Cachar- 307, Kamrup (R)- 248, Dibrugarh- 207.”
