SMB hands over land at Meherpur dumping ground for installation of Bio Mining Machine

Dec. 18: Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) on Saturday officially handed over the land at Meherpur dumping ground for installation of Bio Mining Machine for clearing of legacy waste, segregation and processing of new waste. Present during the ceremony were MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DDMA and Executive Officer, Silchar Municipal Board, Jessica Lalsim among others, who formally inaugurated the project by cutting the ribbon.

Expressing his views, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty said, “I firmly believe that with the installation of this technology, the dumping ground for waste will be freed from heaps of waste which will clear grounds for hassle free movement of garbage trucks thus facilitating fast clearance of garbage.” He also expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Urban Development Ashok Singhal, MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy, Chairman of Silchar Development Authority, Manjul Dev and ADC, Rajib Roy for their wholehearted support. MLA Chakraborty further offered special thanks to Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli and Executive Officer SMB, Jessica Lalsim for their tireless effort for making this project successful. He further urged upon the inhabitants of Silchar “to join hands for a clean Silchar and keep the new project in their prayers.”
