267 tests Covid positive in Cachar on Monday, 461 discharged & 4 deaths at SMCH
There are 1,284 active cases in Cachar
Jan. 25: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district is gradually increasing. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 5.50 PM. As per the latest data, a total of 267 persons were found positive in the district on 25 January. Also, 461 patients were discharged (423 from home & 38 from hospital) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,284 out of which, 1,184 are in home isolation whereas 100 are admitted in various hospitals of the district. On Monday, 127 persons were found positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 2,422 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 152 persons were found positive, whereas 109 were detected positive out of 499 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 Jan 2022 reached 5,623 whereas during this phase, 4,321 patients were discharged. This data was provided by the district health department from 12 noon of 24 January to 12 noon of 25 January, 2022. There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 24 January to 5 PM on 25 January) witnessed the death of 04 (01 brought dead) more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.
The deceased were identified as:
- Tulsi Das (23) from Srigouri in Karimganj district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH at 12.43 PM on 23 January. The patient, however, breathed his last at 8.45 PM on 24 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome.
- Sushama Sinha (57) from Dholai in Cachar district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH at 11.28 PM on 23 January. The patient passed away at 6.20 AM on 25 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute kidney injury.
- Santanu Nath (2 months & 24 days) from Dharmanagar in Tripura tested Covid positive and was brought to SMCH at 1.30 AM on 25 January. As per SMCH authorities, the patient was brought dead.
- Titu Nayek (08 years), S/O Rajesh Nayek from Patherkandi in Karimganj district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH at 3.43 AM on 24 January. The patient died at 10 AM on 25 January, 2022. The patient was suffering from severe anemia with CCF.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 25 January, there were 26 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 05 patients were put under ventilator support, and 17 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 03 were discharged. A total of 24 patients were detected positive in RAT at SMCH and 13 in RTPCR on Tuesday. Majority of them detected positive on Tuesday opted for home isolation.
