2,385 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Sunday, 30 deaths registered
Active cases 24,551 in Assam
May 2: On Sunday, out of 23,818 tests, 2,385 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,58,961. The positivity rate in the state is 10.01 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 1,099 positive cases during the day. Further, on Sunday again, 30 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,360. At present, there are 24,551 active cases in Assam.
It needs mention here that on Sunday, 3,453 persons tested positive in Assam and 23 deaths were registered.
On Sunday, 2,831 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,31,703 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 89.47%.

Further, during the day, 30 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest death toll in the state in 2021. Out of the 30 deceased, 12 are from Kamrup Metro, 4 from Barpeta, 3 from Udalguri, 2 each from Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur; 1 each from Goalpara, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup Rural & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,360.
