21 new corona cases detected; tally rises to 2,760 in Hailakandi district
13 Sept.: 21 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Sunday, taking the total tally to 2,760. Health authorities here disclosed that of the 21 positive cases, nine have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while two under RT-PCR. 338 swab samples were taken on Sunday.
Altogether 1,511 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 2,428 persons on being cured have been released from hospitals.The number of active cases is 313. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 11 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board. 93 COVID-19 afflicted persons are under home isolation.
Of the 23,915 swab samples taken, 21,348 have tested negative. Swab results of 438 persons are awaited.
The district administration has stepped up swab samples collection. 58,855 swab samples were taken under RT-PCR and RAT. 40-45 mobile medical teams have fanned out to different parts of the district.
