20 tests +ve in Cachar on Sunday, tally reaches 10,797

Active cases 112 in Cachar

Nov. 22: On Sunday, a total of 20 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1056 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 13 persons were found positive, whereas 07 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Sunday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,797. Further, a total of 10,648 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 112 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 22 persons were found positive in Cachar on Saturday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 221 persons were collected. 389 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 05 tested positive. Further, 176 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 were found positive.

Apart from this, 04 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 02 were discharged. At present, there are 12 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 04 of them are critical. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Sukumari Teli, Aparna Chanda, Supriya Das and Ainuddin Choudhury. 01 patient is now in ventilator support.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
