2 more die due to COVID-19 in Assam, death tally rises to 50

July 16: Two more persons died due to COVID-19 in Assam. The two persons who lost their lives due to COVID-19 on Thursday are Bidul Ahmed (50) from Baksa and Upen Ch Sharma (63) from Kamrup (Metro). With this, the death tally of the state has gone up to 50. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Disheartening to let you know that we lost two precious lives today to #COVID19. Shri Bidul Ahmed (50) from Baksa & Shri Upen Ch Sharma (63) from Kamrup (Metro) succumbed to their infections today My condolences to their bereaved families & friends.”
