2 more deaths registered on Monday at SMCH
Oct. 12:: The coronavirus pandemic has now led to a procession of death also in Barak Valley. Since the last few days, the valley witnessed many deaths, although all of them were not certified as COVID-19 deaths. However, this also cannot be ruled out that all of them were infected with coronavirus. Those COVID positive persons who die due to comorbidities are usually not certified as ‘Covid-19’ death by the State Death Audit Board.
On Monday, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) informed that on Monday, the Valley witnessed 02 more deaths at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). One of the deceased is from Cachar, while the other is from Tripura. The two deceased were identified as:
- Laxman Kalindi (60) from Lediacherra Tea Estate in Cachar district was admitted in SMCH at 6.05 PM on 2 October. He breathed his last at 3.40 PM on 12 October. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
- Sadhana Malakar (58) from Kailasahar, Unokoti in Tripura was admitted in SMCH at 3.01 AM on 7 October. She died at 12.50 PM on 12 October. Her death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
