2 more deaths registered in last 24 hours at SMCH

Sept. 27: The coronavirus pandemic has now led to a procession of death also in Barak Valley. Since the last few days, the valley witnessed many deaths, although all of them were not certified as COVID-19 deaths. However, this also cannot be ruled out that all of them were infected with coronavirus. Those COVID positive persons who die due to comorbidities are usually not certified as ‘Covid-19’ death by the State Death Audit Board.

On Sunday, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) informed that in the last 24 hours, the Valley witnessed 02 more deaths at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). Both of them are from Cachar district. The two deceased were identified as:

• Anjan Deb (82) from Ramkrishna Sarani in Silchar was admitted in SMCH on 23 September. He, however, breathed his last in the morning on 27 September. His death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
• Suprabha Das (60) from Dwarbond in Cachar district in SMCH on 17 September. She died at 5.30 PM on 26 September. Her death was certified as Non-Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
