Amit Shah does ceremonial launch of several projects in Assam

9 law colleges in Assam, 2nd medical college in Guwahati etc. ceremonially launched

Dec. 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday performed the ceremonial launch of several important development projects in Guwahati on Saturday. The projects were launched in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other dignitaries.

  • The Home Minister was present as the chief guest and launched the ambitious Asom Darshan Scheme. The Rs 200 cr scheme will ensure 8000 Namghars across Assam. All Namghars which are more than 50 years old will get assistance.

  • In Guwahati, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for development & beautification of Batadrava Than, which is situated in Nagaon. This Rs 188 cr project is Government’s soulful tribute to the harbinger of Assamese art & culture, Sri Sankardeva.
  • He was also present in the ceremonial launch of establishment of 2nd Medical College in Guwahati, to expand medical education network. The Rs 755 cr project will add 1200 beds besides state-of-art facilities for best healthcare facilities.
  • Amit Shah also ceremonially launched nine new Law Colleges in Assam. These institutions shall empower the youth for gainful careers.

Taking to his twitter handle on Saturday, State heavyweight Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Assam and North East have seen rare surge in development ever since PM Sri @narendramodi joined office. A region once neglected, is today resonating with vibrations of progress & prosperity. How honored we’re to have HM Sri @AmitShah bless us with launch of Rs 1176 cr projects.”
