2 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 19 December
Active cases 46 in Cachar, 9 discharged
Dec. 19: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 10.40 PM. As per the latest data, 02 persons were found positive in the district on 19 December. Also, 09 patients were discharged (1 from hospital & 8 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 46 (34 in home isolation & 12 in hospitals). It needs mention here that on Saturday, 07 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,421 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, no persons were found positive, whereas 02 were detected positive out of 46 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,523 whereas during this phase, 20,260 patients were discharged.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 18 December to 5 PM on 19 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 19 December, there were 09 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, but 01 is in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and also 01 of them was discharged.
