190 tests +ve in Cachar on Wednesday including a 1-day-old baby

August 19: On Wednesday, a total of 159 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive. A total of 1508 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) was done on Wednesday in Cachar. 130 persons were detected positive in RAT Test, whereas, 60 persons were found positive in 4 slots of RT-PCR Test (1st slot=16 positive cases, 2nd slot=13 positive cases, 3rd slot=28 positive cases and 4th slot=03 positive cases).

In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test Results, 16 persons from Cachar were tested as COVID-19 positive on Wednesday. Out of them, is a 1-day-old infant (baby of Madhu Das) from Rongpur, Silchar. The mother of the baby is also coronavirus positive. The baby is symptomatic. Two more persons from Joypur Part-II were found positive during the day. They are a 60-year-old female and 30-year-old female. Both of them are asymptomatic. They were infected as they came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed cases. Another 37 years old male from Babur Bazarin Jarultola also tested positive. He came by air from Bangalore.

Two persons from Botertol, Meherpur also came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case and were found positive. They are a 25-year-old female and a 20-year-old female. Both are asymptomatic. Further, another 63-year-old female from Azad Hind Road was also detected positive after coming in contact with a positive case. Two persons from National Highway, a 75 years old male (Source of contamination not mentioned in SRF) and a 54 years old male (SARI symptoms) tested positive. Another SARI case was detected during the day from SMCH. A 25 years old healthcare worker from Ghungoor was detected positive. A patient with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms, a 22-year-old male from Uttar Krishnapur was found positive.

There were some more in the 1st slot, whose source of getting contaminated was not mentioned in the SRF. They are from Rongpur and Kalain. Another 40-year-old male from Kathal 6th AP BN, Jafarpur, Cachar, a healthcare worker was tested positive. He came in contact with a confirmed case.

In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test results,13 persons tested positive. Among them are 4 air passengers. They are a 1-month-old baby from Berenga Pt-V (Air passenger from Bangalore), 27-year-old male from Srikona (Air passenger from Bangalore), 22-year-old female from Berenga Pt-V (Air passenger from Guwahati) and a 24-year-old female from Srikona (Air passenger from Bangalore). Further, a 19 years old pregnant woman in near labour from Berenga Pt-II was also detected positive.

Also, 5 persons who came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed cases were also detected as COVID-19 positive on Wednesday. They are 35 years old male, 29 years old female & 8 years old child from Vivekananda Road, 12 years old female from Tarapur and a 33-year-old male from Premtola. Further, a 20 years old male from Kandigram was detected through ATSP. A 60 years old male from behind UCO Bank in Meherpur was suffering from fever. When tested, he was found positive. The last one in the 2nd slot is a 67 years old male from Green heals Hospital, Meherpur. However, his source of getting infected was not mentioned in the SRF.

The 3rd slot on Wednesday contained particulars of 28 positive cases. Out of them, 4 are air passengers. They are a 56-year-old female from Das Colony (Air passenger from Kolkata), 29-year-male from Lailapur Army Camp (Air passenger from Patna),28-year-old male from Berenga Pt-V (Air passenger from Guwahati) and 50 years old female from Srikona (Air passenger from Bangalore).

Apart from them, 6 positive cases were identified through Assam Targeted Surveillance Programme (ATSP). They are 30 years old male from Das Para at SMCH, another male of the same age from CIAT School, CRPF Dayapur, 72-year-old male from Madhurband, 45 years old male from Uttar Krishnapur, 40 years male from CIAT School, CRPF Dayapur and a 57-year-old male from Rangirkhari.

Apart from them, a 40 years old male staff from Subhas Nagar working in HDFC Bank was also detected positive during the day. A 28 years pregnant woman in near labour who hails from Malugram was found positive. Another 35 years old pregnant woman from Kanakpur Pt II also tested positive. Similarly, another 19 years old post-delivery patient from Kumbhirgram, presently at SMCH also tested positive. There were 4 persons in this slot who exhibited Influenza Like Illness Symptoms (ILI) and were detected positive. They are 32-year-old male from Narsingtola, 40 years old male from Itkhola, 50 years old male from Tarapur, 51 years old male from Malugram.

A 54-year-old health worker from VVD Lane, Rangirkhari was tested positive. Two persons from Cachar cancer Hospital were also found positive during the day. They are 1 38-year-old male and a 50-year-old male. A 28-year-old male from Meherpur CCHRC who came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case was tested positive.

As per the 4th slot of RT-PCR Test, 3 persons tested positive. They are 1 10 years old child from Ashram Road, Silchar who was detected through ATSP, 25-year-old female from Borkhola Degree College and a 52 years old male with SARI symptoms from East Singari.
