19 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Wednesday, 1 death at SMCH
Aug 11: A total of 19 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 6,864 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 19 persons were found positive, whereas till the filing of this reports, the results of RT-PCR test were not made available. It needs mention here that 29 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 10 August to 5 PM on 11 August) witnessed the death of 03 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Pran Krishna Singha (72) from Ramnagar in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 7 August, 2021. She, however, breathed her last at 6.50 AM on 11 August, 2021.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further informed that till 5 PM of 11 August, a total of 56 active coronavirus patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), out of which, 18 of them are in Covid ward and 38 at ICU. Out of them 46 patients are in oxygen support and 04 are in ventilation. In last 24 hours, 10 new patients were admitted whereas, 12 of them were discharged at SMCH.
