19 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Tuesday

Aug 17:  A total of 19 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 3,475 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 13 persons were found positive, whereas only 06 persons were detected as positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 22 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Monday.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 16 August to 5 PM on 17 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 17 August, there were 38 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 18 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 20 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support and 22 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 01 of them were discharged.
