18 tests +ve in Cachar on Monday, tally reaches 10,700
Active cases 126 in Cachar
Nov. 16: On Monday, a total of 18 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,194 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 12 persons were found positive, whereas 06 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,700. Further, a total of 10,537 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 126 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 07 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 256 persons were collected. 84 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 04 tested positive. Further, 524 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 were found positive.
Apart from this, 02 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 01 were discharged. At present, there are 19 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 09 are admitted in ICU.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 176 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 176 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
