1,727 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 2,495 discharged & 23 deaths registered
There are 17,431 active Covid cases in Assam
July 17: On Saturday, out of 1,33,760 tests, 1,727 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,45,954. The positivity rate in the state is 1.29 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 250 positive cases during the day. Further, on Saturday, 23 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 4,984. The recovery rate is 95.65 percent.
It needs mention here that on Friday, 1,782 persons tested positive in Assam and 24 deaths were registered.
On Saturday, 2,495 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,22,192 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 95.65 percent. At present, there are 17,431 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 23 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 23 deceased, 03 are from Jorhat & Sivasagar; 02 each are from Cachar, Golaghat & Sonitpur; 01 each from Barpeta, Biswanath, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Hojai, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Morigaon, Nagaon, Tinsukia & Udalguri. The death tally of the state now stands at 4,984.
