17 fresh COVID cases detected in Hailakandi on Thursday, active cases 75 in the district
April 29: Hailakandi reported 17 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, pushing the coronavirus tally in the district to 3,480. Of the 17 active cases detected on Thursday, 16 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test. Results of 353 samples are being awaited from Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
The district has altogether 75 active COVID-19 cases while 3,382 patients have recuperated from the disease. 18 patients are presently undergoing treatment at SK Roy Civil Hospital, one at Silchar Medical College and Hospital and 56 kept under home isolation. The district has accounted for nine COVID deaths in the first wave of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the administration has asked all the counting officials engaged in connection with the Assembly election to undergo COVID test within 48 hours of counting of votes. An order to this effect issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner cum In charge Personnel Cell, Narendra Kumar Shah said that the counting officials have to bring the COVID test report while reporting for counting duty on May 2.
